Machine leg press. Great for building leg strength with back support. Allows you to train legs with heavy weight and less spinal load than squats. Great for building quad size and strength. Useful for those with back issues who can't barbell squat.
How to Do Leg Press: Step by Step
Place feet shoulder-width on platform
Lower sled until knees are at ~90 degrees
Press through full foot, don't let heels lift
Don't lock knees completely at the top
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Going too deep and letting lower back round off the pad
Placing feet too high or too low on platform
Locking knees hard at top of movement
Leg Press Tips
Place your feet higher on the platform to target glutes and hamstrings more
Place your feet lower to increase quad emphasis
Keep your lower back pressed flat — if it rounds, you've gone too deep
Use a controlled tempo: 3 seconds down, 1 second up
